I would love to tell you that the first way you can add polka dots into your wedding theme is by using these polka dot roses, but unfortunately this was an April fools joke by Interflora, but you never know maybe one day!!
So first off we have stationary… you could use multi-coloured dots on a range of invitations, or just use black and white for a more classy effect. How about using plan envelopes and invites, but adding a splash of polka dot fun to the inside of your envelopes giving your guests just a little hint of things to come.
Favors are a great way to incorporate this theme and I love the little pales and watering cans which you can fill with sweets or chocolate. The favors on the bottom left are herbs which have had the name tag tied on with a polka dot ribbon – you can make this theme as subtle or as bold as you like.
The cake – I really like the use of colour here and I don’t think it looks too over done or busy. If you wanted to stick with white and one other colour you can have a plan white cake with the dots of your choice. Black and white or pink and white work really well together.
Speaking of pink and white – I really love this arrangement, the oversized tea cup with the pink roses is beautiful and would make a great centrepiece. It would also be lovely for a birthday or anniversary party as well especially if you like tea.
Outfits…. one thing with having a polka dot theme is it allows you to mix and match colours if you wish, lovely soft pastel shades for the bridesmaids is perfect, you can also mix and match styles of dress so long as they each had a little polka dot in them to bring things together. You of course don’t have to have dots on YOUR dress, but I found the image on the right and it would be lovely for a relaxed beach affair.
Here is a great example of using this theme with just a pink and white colour palette, for some more Polka Dot Wedding Moodboards check these out over at Project Wedding they will give you some great ideas and help you figure out what feel you would like.
